Planning appeal hearing

news-800pxOn Tuesday 22nd January, the appeal against the decision to refuse planning permission for 54 houses to be built off Station Road (17/03964/OUT) was heard in a public meeting at the Milborne Port Village Hall. The planning inspector, Mr. Robert Parker heard submissions from the appellant and from the District Council who were opposing the appeal. About 30 members of the public were present including several members of the Parish Council, Primary School Governors and other interested parties who also had the opportunity to make representation to the inspector.

Upcoming events at the Sports and Social Club

news-800pxThe Milborne Port Sports and Social club will be holding a number of organised events in January and February. On the agenda is Bingo at 7.30 pm on 31 January and 28 February; all welcome, whilst on Saturday 9 February there is the Members Party at which the committee would like to thank members for their support during 2018. The Party will include a children's disco from 5 to 7 pm and at 8 pm Live music with Owen & Darren . Free nibbles

WI hear about travels to the Far East

WI logoIt was very nice to see most of our members at our first meeting of 2019, especially as it was a cold and damp evening. However, it is good to get out and meet friends again after the Christmas festivities.   We always welcome new members so please come along to our next meeting in February and 'give us a try'.

Utilisation of grant funding from Canadian Solar

The Milborne Port Parish Council have received a substantial grant from Canadian Solar with the specification that it be used for projects which benefit the village. Residents are invited to promote ideas for the utilisation of the funds. To be considered, ideas must be received no later than 18th February 2019 and consideration will be made by councillors at the March meeting of council.
