WI sing Jerusalem with Handbell ringers

WI logoChristine Porter writes, firstly, I'm pleased to report that our two teams did well at the County Quiz evening held in Henstridge in July, one of them coming second and only losing out by one point.

August has been a busy month for us socially.   It started with our visit to Cothelstone Manor at the beginning of the month. This is a privately owned manor house in a lovely rural setting a few miles north of Taunton.

Your Parish Council has entered Milborne Port in the 2018 competition


Please do your bit to keep the village looking at its best.
Tidy up your frontages and remove any litter.
The judges will inspect the weighbridge area, the High Street, the Ball Court, Church Place, Church lane, the Church Yard, Grove Garden, Pud Brook, The School and the Cemetery.
Judging will take place on 10th July commencing at 2pm at the Town Hall

Award for Steve Davis

news-800pxThe Queen's birthday honours has recognised our own Steve Davis with an award of medalist of the Order of the British Empire, more commonly known as the British Empire Medal or BEM. The citation reads "For services to the community in Milborne Port, Somerset." Congratulations Steve on receiving this honour.
