Mrs. Eyres reports on our very busy School

mpps-logoIn April we have been busy developing our outside spaces. We are very grateful for the support that the PTFA (Parent, Teacher & Friends Association) gives us. Recently their fundraising has enabled us to purchase a new shed, which is going to be the resource base for our “Outdoor Learning.” We aim to get all classes having regular lessons outside and we are currently equipping our “Outdoor Classroom.” A huge thank you to Mr Laughton and Mr Lockey for assembling our new classroom. We have got some raised beds which we are about to start planting out; any surplus seeds or plants are welcomed!

Wiggles & Giggles - and more

janeA series of clubs for the younger members of our village takes place each week at the village hall. On a Monday, Wiggles and Giggles runs from 3.30 to 4.45 for ages 4 to 7yrs, this is an active fun and games group, The Junior Youth club runs from 5 to 6.30pm for ages 8 to 11 yrs and the Senior youth club runs from 6.30 to 8.30 for 11 to 19 year olds.

Flexercise is open to anyone and runs on a Monday from 10 to 12.30 in the Camelot room at Village Hall,

Finally a Youth drop in Cafe runs on Thursdays also in the Camelot Room, village hall from 3.30 to 6.30 for all young people with crafts and games. For more information on any of these, please contact Claire on 07922437466

Friends of Milborne Port Library (FOMPL) - May 2018

Black FOMPL logo002Much current activity centres on Somerset County Council’s proposals for the Library Service. The options for Milborne Port are, either the involvement of ‘the community’ to keep the Library open, or a monthly visit from a Mobile Library. We hope you have given this some thought and made your voice heard by completing the Consultation Questionnaire. You can do this directly Online at If you prefer, printed questionnaires are available at the Library. The deadline for taking part in the Consultation is 13th June.

Milborne Port Gardening Club Plant Sale

GardeningThe club will be holding a plant sale of locally grown plants, including flowers, shrubs, herbs and vegetables on Saturday May 12th starting at 10:30am outside the Town Hall and Else's fish and chip shop. The eagle eyed among you will note that the date has changed from that originally advertised.
