Friends of Milborne Port Library (FOMPL)

hullabaloo blueJill Spring writes: As many of you will know, all Somerset libraries are closed from Wednesday 18 March until further notice. So that includes Milborne Port’s Jolly Book Bus. At the moment it is not known when libraries will be able to open again. However, loans will be extended and it has been agreed that overdue and hire charges will be waived. It will no longer be possible to renew books online.

covid-19Because of the Corona virus, many events and meetings in the village have been cancelled. It has not been possible completely to update the village diary to reflect this. Please be aware, therefore that the diary is unlikely to reflect current activities.

WI report on Theatre trip

WI logoChristine Porter writes.The W.I. had a very enjoyable week the middle of March. On the Wednesday we had our theatre trip to Salisbury to see 'Dial M for Murder' which was a very good production. I must have seen the old film several years ago but couldn't remember the plot and it was good to see it unravelling. Fortunately, we picked a really sunny and warm day for our outing so it was very pleasant to wander around Salisbury, and have a nice lunch, before going to the afternoon performance.

History and Heritage

Heritage LogoWe have learned that the History and Heritage group meeting for Monday 16th March has been postponed because of the current concerns over the Covid-19 pandemic. The group hope to reschedule this later in the year. The diary entry does not yet reflect this situation as Church House control this feed.
