Friends of Milborne Port Library (FOMPL) - June 2019

Black FOMPL logo002The Friends continue to be optimistic about the future. We are at the final stages required to form the Community Library Partnership with Somerset County Council that will manage our Library service in the future.

Meanwhile, celebration of all that has been achieved in the 30-plus years that the Library has been at home in Cross Cottage will be at an Open House morning, between 10 a.m. and 1 pm. on Friday 28th June. Drinks and nibbles will be served and everyone is welcome.

WI plan summer outing

WI logoChristine Porter writes; Firstly, I would like to tell you about our proposed Summer Outing which is taking place on Thursday, 27th June at 10.30am when we visit Cothay Manor, near Wellington.  The cost for this trip is £31, which includes the coach fare, a guided tour of the house and gardens, plus a cream tea.

Milborne Port Primary School - building a foundation for life

mpps-logoGovernors and staff at Milborne Port Primary School are excited to confirm that the building of its seventh classroom is underway. The recent approval of two moderately sized housing developments in the village has led to the county council approving a seventh classroom to be built on the site. This means that for the first time ever, Milborne Port Primary School will be able to offer single year classes for its pupils. It is also expected that initially at least, this will mean smaller class sizes.
