GardeningThe Gardening Club has been pleased to welcome a number of new members for 2019. We hope that they will all enjoy their membership. One of the many advantages in being a member of the club is that we have frequent discount offers from Castle Gardens in Sherborne. On March 12th we will enjoy an early evening at the Gardens, after normal closing, when we will hear about many of the lovely plants and other products available for spring gardening and we can ‘shop till we drop’ with a 25% discount on everything we buy - our trolleys will be fully laden! This event is only open to club members.

A reminder that on Tuesday, April 9th , Paul Stickland, who many of you may know runs the lovely Black Shed Cut Flowers on the Sherborne Road, will tell us about developing this cut flower business. On May 7th we will be holding our ever-popular plant sale outside the Town Hall and Else’s Fish Shop starting at 10.00am.

On August 13th the club will be visiting the Bishop’s Palace Gardens in Wells. Members will enjoy a guided tour of the gardens. We will be using a coach leaving Milborne Port at 9.30am and returning by 6.00pm. Whilst the guided garden visit is for members only we expect to have a few spare places on the coach, which we will be offering at £10.00 for a return ticket. Wells is a pleasant city for a day out and of course you could always visit the gardens independently as they are open to the general public. Look out for full information in later editions of this magazine.

To enjoy all, or any of these activities, you simply need to join the club. The 2019 subscription is only £12.00. To join simply come along to one of our meetings, which are held in The Camelot Room at the Village Hall and start at 7.30pm or contact me on 250654. Fuller details of our programme can be found on the Milborne Port web page.
