Milborne Port Gardening Club look forward to the Autumn season

GardeningThe Gardening Club has enjoyed wonderful garden visits and social events during the long hot summer. We have now ‘returned to school’ for our autumn and winter programme of talks and activities.

On Tuesday October 9th, Mike Burkes from Castle Gardens will give us a talk on ‘Gardening for Climate Change’ – a very appropriate topic with the extremes that climate change seems to be bringing here and throughout the world.

On Tuesday, November 13th, we will have our AGM, which is usually quite short, followed by a slide show of members’ photographs from all the club’s activities throughout the year. We welcome visitors to these meetings for a small fee of £2.00. On Tuesday, December 11th we will have enrolment for 2019 membership (the fee is only £12.00 for the whole year), followed by a Xmas Craft evening making things using all sorts of vegetation, candles and such like and accompanied by mulled wine and traditional mincemeat tarts. We hope to welcome back all existing members and will offer a warm reception to any newcomers. Meetings are held at 7.30pm in the Camelot Room at the Village Hall where there is plenty of car-parking space.
