Many of you will have read Naomi Thorpe's booklets regarding the 1914 - 1918 and 1939 - 1945 names on the War Memorial and I know that many of you will be aware that on the 27th May 1951 the Garden of Remembrance (alias the Ball Court) was dedicated as a memorial to those who gave their lives during those conflicts.

On Sunday 27th May at 3 pm the garden will be rededicated by Revd Bede Cooper.  The service will replicate that held 67 years earlier and has been organised by the Royal British Legion  The service will start in St Johns and then the congregation will process to the Ball Court where the service will end.  Tea will then be served in Church House.

This event is obviously a very important part of the villages history and hopefully some of you will want to be part of this historic occasion.

Our June meeting is on Monday 18th June when Lesley Wray and John Fanning will be giving us a guided tour with a potted history of Goathill Church.  This will start at 7.30 pm at Goathill but if any of you require a lift out to Goathill please be at St John's Milborne Port at 7 pm.

As usual we will not be charging for the event but will be very grateful for donations.  Any donations received at the Goathill evening will be shared with Goathill PCC
