Primary School wants to learn more about village history

mpps-logoRebecca Eyres writes; Hello I am the new Acting Headteacher at the village school. I joined the school in September 2015 as the Deputy Headteacher. I am very excited to have taken on this new role and to have the opportunity to learn more about Milborne Port. All of the staff and governors here at Milborne Port Primary School form a strong, hardworking and caring team and we are all committed to our school aim of “Building a Foundation for Life.” We are very proud of our pupils and their attitude towards their learning.

Our pupils are all members of one of our four teams: Weavers, Glovers, Tanners and Merchants. Many pupils do not know of the historical significance of their team and we are planning to hold a Team Morning - date to be confirmed - giving the pupils the opportunity to learn about the history of the village. If you would like to be involved in this, or have material that we could borrow, please contact me.

In June 2017 Ofsted judged us as a “Good” school and we are now working towards it becoming an “Outstanding” school, at the centre of the community. If you are interested in learning more about your village school, would like to support us or feel that you could enrich our curriculum, then please do get in touch via the school office. You can find information about us and our contact details on the school website: www.milborneport.somerset.sch.uk
