Moviola presents "Victoria and Abdul"

Moviola“Queen Victoria strikes up an unlikely friendship with a young Indian clerk named Abdul” Being shown as our first Moviola presentation of 2018, Victoria and Abdul (PG) will be on the screen at Milborne Port Village Hall on Friday 26th January 2018.

abdulAbdul Karim arrives from India to participate in Queen Victoria's golden jubilee. The young clerk is surprised to find favour with the Queen herself. As Victoria questions the constrictions of her long-held position, the two forge an unlikely and devoted alliance that her household and inner circle try to destroy. As their friendship deepens, the Queen begins to see a changing world through new eyes, joyfully reclaiming her humanity.

Based on a true story, Dame Judi Dench portrays Queen Victoria whilst Ali Fazal plays Abdul Karim.Strong supporting roles are played by Tim Pigott-Smith, Eddie Izzard, Michael Gambon and Simon Callow.

Doors open at 7.00pm, with curtain up at 7.30 p.m.

Tickets are on sale from Wayne Pullen, Butcher, High Street, Milborne Port after 6th January 2018. All tickets are £5.00, in advance (no concessions) – tickets will be available on the door at £5.50 each (no concessions).
