Public meeting to discuss Redcliffe Homes and Station road Proposals

news-800pxThe public meeting that was held on Wednesday 1st November, attracted some 90 or so residents of the village.

Many questions were asked and answered mostly by David Norris from the SSDC planning department. Much of the debate related to the change of character to the village that these developments, if passed, would make and of the impact to village services. Some in the audience were under the misaprehension that it was SSDC who would be doing the development. Most of the concern expressed was the impact on traffic that these developments would make.

Dave was keen to point out that in any representations to SSDC on this matter, that residents focus on material considerations , as these carry most weight in consideration of planning applications. Sarah suggested that a group may get together to establish their strategy to oppose the applicaitons.

Five Parish Councillers were present at the meeting and they will no doubt reflect on the debate when forming their response to the application at the next Parish Council meeting on November 7th.
