WI report on Theatre trip

WI logoChristine Porter writes. The W.I. had a very enjoyable week the middle of March. On the Wednesday we had our theatre trip to Salisbury to see 'Dial M for Murder' which was a very good production. I must have seen the old film several years ago but couldn't remember the plot and it was good to see it unravelling. Fortunately, we picked a really sunny and warm day for our outing so it was very pleasant to wander around Salisbury, and have a nice lunch, before going to the afternoon performance.

The following day we had our annual dinner in Church House.  The committee met in the afternoon to lay the tables etc.  Iris had very tastefully arranged some spring flowers and foliage in little yellow pots which gave a very springlike appearance to the room, especially with the green and yellow napkins and white tablecloths!   As our previous caterer retired last year, we engaged our local caterer, Claire's Catering, and are really glad we did so, as the food was absolutely delicious - the quality and quantity were very good indeed. We were waited on this year which gave the committee a chance to relax. We had a table quiz to tax our brains during the evening, plus the usual raffle, and everyone agreed it had been a really successful evening.   It was especially good to see three of our new members attend.

In view of the Government's advice regarding the coronavirus, it is with regret that we are suspending our monthly meetings, coffee mornings, craft and scrabble groups for the next two month's at least. I hope everyone stays well and things get back to normal before too long.
