WI plan summer outing

WI logoChristine Porter writes; Firstly, I would like to tell you about our proposed Summer Outing which is taking place on Thursday, 27th June at 10.30am when we visit Cothay Manor, near Wellington.  The cost for this trip is £31, which includes the coach fare, a guided tour of the house and gardens, plus a cream tea.

We should have some spaces on the coach so if you would like to join us please contact Hazel on 251428, or pop into the WI Room on Friday mornings when we open to serve coffee etc.

At our May meeting our new president, Jan Smith, welcomed everyone and advised them about various forthcoming events, such as our Group Social on 5th July when six other local W.Is. will be joining us; the first round of the County Quiz which takes place at Henstridge later in July, and our summer outing as detailed above.   Our talk was entitled 'Illegal Immigrants' which was rather misleading as the subject related to unwanted plants in your garden!

Our next meeting is on 13th June and we welcome visitors and prospective members to this - we meet in the old Town Hall in the High Street at 7.30pm.   However, we hope to see you before then when we are running a bottle stall at the Spirit of Milborne Port Fete on 1st June - do come along and 'have a go'
