Milborne Port Primary School - building a foundation for life

mpps-logoGovernors and staff at Milborne Port Primary School are excited to confirm that the building of its seventh classroom is underway. The recent approval of two moderately sized housing developments in the village has led to the county council approving a seventh classroom to be built on the site. This means that for the first time ever, Milborne Port Primary School will be able to offer single year classes for its pupils. It is also expected that initially at least, this will mean smaller class sizes.

New ClassroomThe build has now started and will be complete for the start of the 2019-20 school year. The school has recruited a new teacher for the additional classroom and everybody is looking forward to this new stage in the school’s history. Headteacher Rebecca Eyres, said “This is a major development for the school, and we cannot wait to see the school grow. Due to the new classroom being built, we now have a number of additional places in each year group.”

This term the school has started offering a Breakfast Club for all of its pupils. This is proving very popular with working parents and carers. A range of After School Clubs, are offered, some of which change termly.

Our approach to education is that it should be fun, inspiring and safe. We are a caring and welcoming school. Our dedicated team of governors, staff and volunteers, build positive relationships with all of our pupils to ensure that they are in the best possible place to learn. Our pupils’ wellbeing is at the centre of all that we do.

We warmly welcome visitors to the school; Mrs Eyres will be delighted to give you a tour, detail what the school can offer and answer any of your questions. Please get in touch on 01963 250366 or visit the school website: www.milborneport.somerset.sch.uk
