Newsletter 15th October

The Michaelmas market, organised by "The Spirit of Milborne Port" team was adjudged a great success; the weather was kind and many residents turned out. A tidy sum was raised during this day. For a report on this and an indication of the destination of the money raised, click here.

This market was the first such event for many years. Another first was the Screen Bites festival on 4th October. Click on the link to read more about this event.

Another fund raiser, was the WI Macmillan coffee morning which has raised over £300.

The implementation of the Parish Plan, of which this website is one part, has been underway for a couple of years now. We have prepared a short review of what has so far been achieved and a request for your feedback on the efforts so far.

Your last chance to get tickets for The Mill Singers on 20th October is fast approaching. If that is not your thing, then a race night, with proceeds in aid of the community swimming pool also takes place on that evening. If you enjoy using your own voice, then before these events, on Tuesday 16th October is a songs of praise at the Church to celebrate 100 years of the church organ, which if you remember, had its cobwebs blown away in a recent recital by Michael Bawtree.

Looking ahead into November, and thoughts of rememberance, there will be a rememberance service at the Parish Church on 11th November.

Towards the end of November, there will be a Christmas craft and food market and not forgetting the grand switch on of the Christmas lights.

Have we missed anything? If you see things missing from the village diary please send an e-mail to let us know.
