Newsletter - 2nd March 2020

The Friends of Milborne Port library remind us that Thursday of this week is world book day which will be celebrated by the library and Milborne Port Primary School, and the library have some discount tokens for children.

The WI have their monthly report of activities and are looking forward to a theatre trip and remind us that there is coffee and cake every Friday morning at the Town Hall.

More activity at the Town Hall this month, in addition to the Parish Council meetings, is provided by the Climate action group who have a number of meetings there (14th, 21st and 26th March) to discuss the various ways in which people may support sustainable practices.

Bees are an important insect in the support of our natural world and the community apiary team would welcome more support with the four hives in Milborne Port.

There are several evenings in the month in and around the parish church and church house, with the “lent lunches” continuing until Easter, Church House AGM on 17th of the month and a guitar recital on the 28th of the Month when Michael Partington will return. Proceeds will be in support of the Church and the library.

The penultimate screening of the Moviola season will be on 20th March when the film “Judy” will be shown.

The village hall also hosts many of the sport and fitness clubs in the village though some of these will be suspended for a week in April when the Milborne Port Opera takes centre stage with this year’s presentation of “The Arcadians”.

That is about all for now. Do look back at the news page throughout the month as article are added periodically including road works alerts. If you see anything wrong or you want to add anything, please get in touch.
